Job Summary

Aurex is seeking a Drafting & Configuration Control Specialist to support the development, release, and lifecycle management of engineering documentation and product configuration data across our manufacturing and engineering operations. This position serves as a critical link between Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Production by ensuring that technical documentation, product structures, and configuration records remain accurate, traceable, and compliant throughout the product lifecycle.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining engineering drawings, CAD models, bills of materials (BOMs), and configuration-controlled documentation while supporting engineering change processes and data integrity within enterprise systems. The ideal candidate possesses strong SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience, a thorough understanding of configuration management principles, and experience managing product data within ERP/MRP environments such as Sage X3.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting, CAD design, document control, configuration management, or related engineering support functions
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and managing engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Experience with engineering document control, revision management, and release processes
  • Experience working within ERP/MRP systems, preferably Sage X3
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing documentation, and product structures
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PCB layout tools, electronic assemblies, or circuit board design environments
  • Experience supporting electromechanical products and manufacturing operations
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other quality management systems
  • Experience using Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
  • Knowledge of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and formal configuration control processes
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, telecommunications, electronics, or industrial manufacturing environments

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Documentation & Drafting

  • Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, assemblies, and technical documentation using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Verify drawing packages, specifications, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Support engineering and manufacturing teams with documentation updates and technical data maintenance
  • Maintain document repositories and ensure compliance with internal quality and document control procedures

Configuration Management & Document Control

  • Generate, revise, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical products
  • Upload, validate, and maintain BOMs, routings, and item master records within Sage X3
  • Ensure proper revision control, document release, and configuration management processes are followed
  • Maintain engineering change documentation, including ECOs, ECNs, and revision records
  • Support configuration audits and traceability activities to ensure product integrity throughout the lifecycle
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Production teams to resolve documentation and configuration issues

Process Improvement & Data Integrity

  • Maintain accurate product structures and configuration-controlled records
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures related to document control and configuration management
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering data quality, process efficiency, and documentation accuracy
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering workflows, change management processes, and data governance practices

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments
  • Ability to sit, stand, and use computer equipment for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally access manufacturing and warehouse areas to support product configuration and documentation activities

How You Will Be Rewarded

The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000 annually.We offer a comprehensive total rewards approach to compensation, providing incentives and benefits that extend beyond base salary.
